History
Memory Hill Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Albertville, Alabama, with graves dating back to the late 19th century. Visitors have reported feeling a chill running down their spine as they reach the center of the 45-acre graveyard. One hot summer, a girl discovered three frozen dead squirrels beneath a tree. The cemetery also has cold spots and strange noises. A ghostly girl is frequently heard humming and singing “Amazing Grace.” Unfortunately, on September 1, 2012, a group of vandals desecrated forty-four headstones, including graves belonging to four victims from the 1908 Great Cyclone (three were children).
