History

The Lily Lake School was abandoned July 1st, 1966 and has been left out of use for more than 40 years. Despite the fact that the illuminated sign above the door says “Lilly Lake”, documents all describe it as being spelled “Lily Lake”. Sometimes, the school is called the Rural Butler County Schoolhouse.
