The Schwartz Hotel

Alma, Colorado

BUILT: Unknown
OPERATION TIME: Unknown to present

The Schwartz Hotel has had several odd occurrences take place on its grounds. Many people have reported having an overall eerie feeling when they walk by the hotel, while others have seen strange lights. During the 1800s, a father and his son got into an argument and ended up shooting each other, and they are the source of the haunting. One woman was so scared by seeing their ghosts that she hung herself from the upper balcony. Now, she, too, resides among the resident spirits of the Schwartz Hotel.

    1. Yup. Hotels see a lot of tragedy since so many people pass through. Freaky o.o

      1. brr.. and I’m staying in one in a couple of weeks *chokes* o_O

      2. o,O You should see if it is haunted. It’d be creepy but also kinda interesting. I’ve seen haunted hotels, but I don’t think I’ve been in one.

      3. I don’t think so, since it’s an Ibis hotel, it’s from a multinational in hotels. I sure hope it’s not haunted…

      4. Hopefully. Sometimes, places are haunted w/o much activity. o,O

My house is haunted…but not bad.

      5. Thankfully, yes…so far, anyways. No clue who they are. Maybe Native Americans. My neighborhood has some Native American grinding rocks. That’s always been my theory.

      6. why don’t you do some research? look it up in city archives?

      7. Waverly or Ibis? If Waverly, I did an entire post on it…freaky stuff but so fascinating.

      8. on your house and the neighborhood 🙂

      9. Possibly 😉 I’m not going investigating …. if they are evil spirits, I’m not going to be the one to get possessed o.o

      10. but in an other way I hope it is :3

      11. It would be interesting for sure. I want to see Waverly Hills Sanatorium so bad…they’re converting part of it into a hotel. Fun.

      12. I wonder who’d stay there if they’d know the story…
